Let me hear from you! I invite any response that is not ad hominem or hateful (which is not the same as contentious or critical). Just scroll to the bottom of the entry you want to respond to, and click on "comments."
By the way, this site is more manageable if you click on the individual postings in the archives, so that they open up on a separate web page. You can return to the main blog by clicking on the heading.
I am a father and spouse; and a committed, gay, progressive Christian. My passions include reading, writing, languages (French, German, Spanish, Biblical Hebrew and Greek), and leading adult Christian ed. discussions. I hold a BA in comparative literature, and an MA in Sacred Scripture from a Catholic Seminary. Having grown up in far northern climes, I lived, studied and taught for over a decade in the Pacific Northwest, before moving to Texas. Two of those years were spent in France: first, in a lycee near Lyon; later, studying philosophy at the Universite Marc Bloch in Strasbourg. I was raised in the Episcopal Church, later converted to Eastern Orthodoxy, and am now happily a member, with my spouse, of a local congregation of the United Church of Christ, where my partner and I were joined in holy union in the summer of 2006, with our pastor presiding.
If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality. -Abp. Desmond Tutu
